Yet those celebrating birthdays around Yule and Christmas often feel neglected. Winter holidays take center stage, and birthdays may get lost in the shuffle. If someone in your family has a birthday at this time of year, be sure and make it special this year. Bake a solar birthday cake, and share the joy of the solstice season. Sunny orange or lemon cake topped with lemony yellow frosting is a perfect way to celebrate the Sun's rebirth. Cover the frosted cake with tiny white candles, and decorate the table with evergreens and oranges. Brew up a pot of tea with cinnamon sticks, orange slices, and cloves, and offer tarot readings.
