Freedom's Shadow

Color of the day:  Purple
Incense of the day:  Rose

What does it mean to you to be liberated? Some of life's shackles we choose, and others are thrown upon us from an early age as we grow into social expectations and demands. To free ourselves from these bonds, we must first identify what has us locked up.

Using the tarot or an oracle deck, look through your cards and select one that makes you the most uncomfortable. This card represents a shadow in your life that is asking for healing or releasing. Create an altar for this card, perhaps including adornments and offerings that reflect its energy. At your altar, reflect on what makes you so uncomfortable looking at this card. For example, if it is the King of Cups, have you been emotionally betrayed or manipulated by someone who had power or authority in your life? Use this altar to process these shadows through journaling, conversations with the spirits, and finally releasing the altar when you have made peace.
