Elliot Adam, author of the well-loved Fearless Tarot, now guides us through one of the most complex human emotions: love. From the hilarious and completely relatable opening pages Elliot takes our hand reassuringly has he reveals the secrets of love in the cards.

He’s taken a few extraordinary approaches to the material.

First, he gives equal attention to the reversed meanings of the cards, a rare if not unique occurrence. This puts them on equal footing instead of regulating them to the “less than” pile.

Second, in addition to the general meaning of each card, he provides meanings for the cards in the areas of: New Relationship, Long-term Partnership, Intimacy, Seeking Romance, Desires for both upright and reversed.

Third, Elliot provides more than card interpretations; he provides general reading advice (and also solid relationship wisdom). For example, many of us notice multiples of cards in a spread and assign meanings to them. Elliot tells us what these multiples may mean in love readings. Here are the Aces – 4s. PIP CARDS IN LOVE
The numbered cards (ace through ten) in each suit are also called Pip cards. The Pip cards often depict different action scenes that tell a story. In love readings, they describe situations and circumstances the relationship is currently experiencing. Some Pip cards look happy and vibrant, while other cards look dark and depressing. Life is a mixture of positive and challenging experiences. The tarot’s Minor Arcana appropriately reflects this.
When interpreting the Pip cards in a love reading, look for patterns. One of the most noticeable patterns are multiple cards appearing from the same suit. Another pattern you might notice is the appearance of two or more num- bered cards that cluster together. The more of the same numbers that appear, the more powerful the message. Major Arcana cards can also be included with Minor Arcana cards of the same number. Double-digit cards can be reduced. For example, Justice, numbered eleven, can be reduced to the number two by adding both digits together (1+1=2). Tens are unique. They can stand on their own or can be reduced to the number 1 (1+0=1). Here are some numerological correspondences to aid you in interpreting clusters of the same number appearing in your relationship reading.

Multiple aces in a love reading represent renewal and new beginnings. Perhaps a new relationship is just starting, or an existing partnership is entering an exciting new phase. Aces introduce positive change and the opportunity to begin anew. Aces in a reading are like reset buttons. It doesn’t matter what may have happened in the past; the appearance of multiple aces promises a fortuitous time to begin anew. Multiple aces can also signify time frames, such as one day, week, month, or year.

Multiple twos in a love reading will often point to choices or compromises that affect the partnership. When multiple twos appear, you may have to com- promise your needs and expectations with the priorities of another. Twos are best brought into harmony through communication and compromise. The appearance of multiple twos may herald a time to consider another person’s point of view. Multiple twos can also signify time frames, such as two days, weeks, months, or years.

Multiple threes in a love reading will inspire you to express yourself. Threes encourage you to be more confident and let others know what is in your mind and heart. Threes are also concerned with restoring joy and passion. Threes can also let you know when your heart needs healing. When threes appear, it is time to pay attention to the physical needs of relationships. Multiple threes can also signify time frames, such as three days, weeks, months, or even years.

Multiple fours in a love reading represent reestablishing stability to regain a sense of firm footing in your relationship life. Fours can encourage you to work on self-improvement in the real world. This could include establishing new routines to improve your appearance, physical health, vitality, or career. Fours can also indicate that self-discipline is required. You know what is truly best for you and how to be strong…so be it! Multiple fours can also signify time frames, such as four days, weeks, months, or perhaps even years.
